Sexual Health Matters - Maintaining Satisfaction in a Long-Distance Relationship

Absolutely, a couple needs to consider the amount of time they will be long-distance as well as how far they have to travel to see one another. A couple separated by 2 hours who gets to visit every weekend, is facing a much different situation than a couple living 2 time zones apart with limited ability to travel. Also, consider how long the relationship was established before the distance started, if a couple only has a few months together before facing a 2-year hiatus, that may be a little much to take on, but a long-term couple may be able to do 6-months apart without blinking an eye.

Is there anything else to consider before engaging in a long-distance relationship?

Sex and the long-distance relationship

This can be a bit tricky, as physical intimacy is the one thing most people miss during a long-distance relationship. Of course, some couples choose to be creative and engage in phone sex or any other mode of long-distance rendezvous, but for many it is not as good as the real thing. Thus, when it comes time for a visit, one should be ready to get down and dirty, as the clothes may hit the floor as soon as the door closes. One way to stay primed and ready for action is to use a high quality penis health creme (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil) to keep the http://www.movingcompanyreviews.com/ penis healthy and ready for business. Specially formulated, a penis creme can increase sensitivity, improve the appearance of the skin and heal tissue damage from overly aggressive sex - a possible hazard of the long-distance relationship!

While a long-distance relationship can certainly be trying on a couple - particularly if there is a history of infidelity with either partner - they can be successful. A long-distance relationship can be really lonely, and without having a partner around to spend down time with, it may be tempting to seek companionship in a friend or coworker. If this friend or coworker happens to be of the opposite sex, it is possible that a sexual attraction may form. However, if one is in a loving, committed relationship to begin with, this temptation is no different than it would be while living with ones partner. That being said, hanging out with the opposite sex may cause jealousies to flair and bring on accusations of infidelity from the partner who is hearing about all these great adventures with this new friend -- who is now seen as a threat to the relationship. Ultimately, if both partners are dedicated to each other, the chances of cheating should be no higher than that of any other couple. After all, if ones loyalty and fidelity is dependent on being watched all the time by ones partner, how faithful is one to the relationship anyhow? Bottom line, if either partner feels they will have trouble staying faithful, they should think long and hard about engaging in a long-distance relationship - and choose their friends wisely!

What can two people do to strengthen a long-distance relationship?

Maintaining a healthy relationship is hard. Whether the couple is living in the same home, across town, or across the country, all relationships have their ups and downs. That being said, long-distance relationships can be particularly trying on a couple and seem to be more prone to an abrupt ending. When it comes to a sexual relationship, long-distance can make things even more difficult. One thing is for sure, though, when one is finally reunited with ones partner after many months apart, the reunion is sure to be worth it. To that end, it is important to keep up proper penis care so it is ready to go when the time is right. Some suggestions for maintaining good sexual health AND keeping things spicy between visits are offered here.

Can a long-distance relationship really work? Is there a higher chance of a partner cheating in this type of relationship?

Communicate, communicate, communicate! The key to a successful long-distance relationship is remaining in constant contact with one another, as this helps forge a trusting relationship and reduce that lonely feeling that comes with being apart from one another. Quick emails and text messages throughout the day helps ones partner know they are loved, and a phone call before bed helps put to rest the fear of infidelity and cheating. Video chatting can also be a good tool in helping two people stay connected and see each other between visits. Communication can also help to establish a level of intimacy that many couples fail to enjoy. Couples who are living together may take each other for granted and plop down on the couch for two hours of TV every night, whereas couples in a long-distance relationship actually talk to each other and communicate - what a novel idea!

Best Options For Moving Long Distance

Finding The Best Long Distance Mover For Your Move

Now this process can be a little trickier as these people will be responsible for the transportation of your belongings and also the handling of them. You will want to check their BBB rating and also their reviews across the web as well. I would never recommend going on Craigslist for a long distance move as there tends to be more scammers on there. My 1st stop would be a site like Find Good Movers where you can see all best movers, watch videos and also get free moving quotes from pre-screened movers in your area. There are other sites like this too, but this one is best by far. Otherwise you can use sites like Yelp, Google, Bing or Superpages. This can work but you will end up having to call each mover one at a time for moving quotes.

Which Moving Truck Company To Use?

When picking a moving truck company you have 3 main options with Penske, U-Haul and Budget truck rentals. Their prices tend to be competitive with each other, but we https://www.uhaul.com/MovingHelp/ suggest getting a quote from each one before choosing. They all make it simple to get quoted online so it is pretty painless. Lets take a sneak peek at each moving truck company at a glance.

Beware Of Moving Scams - CBS News

Joe Harrison, president of the American Moving And Storage Association offers the following tips to protect yourself:

To file an official complaint against a mover with the Department of Transportation:

Call the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration at 888-DOT-SAFT www.fmcsa.dot.gov

He says, "I was really, really angry and wanted to see justice done."

Susie Peeler says she felt she could trust them "completely."

Steve Peeler notes, "We had to dip into the kids' college fund and mutual funds we had. It's the biggest scam, the biggest organized crime, that I've ever seen."

The movers ended up holding their belongings hostage for seven months. Steve Peeler had to sleep on an air mattress in their empty Florida home while the family stayed with relatives in North Carolina.

Berry says, "The police normally aren't going to help you because they consider this a civil or contract dispute, not as a criminal matter. You can go to the BBB, but we may not be able to even find these people."

To check a moving company's record, go to:

Susie Peeler says, "The 4-year-old would want her toys and it would be, 'We don't have that right now.' Your kids have things that they love and you can't give it back to them."

Susie Peeler says, "Everything was, 'We'll take care of it all,' and they even became personal, 'Oh, a friend of mine's having a baby.' And you know, made it more of a friendship."

For help in hostage situations:

Since the government deregulated the moving industry in 1995, complaints about movers to the Better Business Bureau have more than doubled, but cracking down on rogue companies is next to impossible.

With two small children and another one on the way, the Peelers were counting every penny when they decided to move cross-country from Seattle, Wash., to Jupiter, Fla.

Check Company's Record - Look up their complaint history with the BBB; contact the Federal Department of Transportation to see if they're licensed and reputable; and get a list of reliable movers from local or national movers association like the American Moving And Storage Association and State Associations of Movers.

Susie Peeler adds, "It was a shock, we couldn't believe it."

So who's supposed to help the victims? Well, the U.S. Department of Transportation is, but, believe it or not, it has just two investigators for the whole country, handling thousands of cases every year.

Susie Peeler says, "A store can get robbed and the police are after the guy, and here, everything that we own, our cars and everything, and no one's doing anything."

But that proved to be a costly mistake. Just days before their stuff was supposed to be delivered, Steve Peeler says, "They called me and said the price had increased three times, four times, from what it originally was."

But as thousands of moving victims quickly learn, justice is hard to come by.

Steve Peeler says, "They called me on Christmas Eve and said that if we didn't pay them, they were going to auction all of our material off."

Avoid Low-Ball Internet Quotes - If it seems too good, it probably is. The Internet is full of crooks posing as movers, so get at least three estimates and discard the low ones.

"It's kind of like taking away your identity," says Steve Peeler. "You've got nothing. It's a feeling that you just can't describe."

Get Everything In Writing Many people make the mistake of signing a blank contract that is a bad idea. The mover should put your estimate and all extra fees in writing on your contract upfront, as well as your pickup and delivery dates. Read your contract from top to bottom and make sure that all your belongings are listed.

Get References From Family/Friends - The best way to know if company is reputable is to talk to people who've used them such as friends, family and neighbors.

Forced to live apart, Steve Peeler didn't see his newborn son for the first month of his life.

Berry says, "The reality is, you're on your own. You can't depend on the federal government to come bail you out."

Imagine it: A moving company packs up your entire house and then holds all your possessions hostage.

That's exactly what happened to Steve and Susie Peeler, reports The Early Show correspondent Melinda Murphy.

Ask About Extra Fees - Your mover will charge extra for packing materials such as boxes, tape, wrapping foam, and padding. Ask how much that costs and to save money, do most of the packing yourself. If your new house is on a narrow street, many movers will charge extra if they can't fit their truck on the street, so ask how much that will cost.

So when Steve Peeler went online looking for movers, Let's Move It Right had the right price -$3,000 to move all their belongings, and another $2,500 for their cars - all guaranteed in writing. The Peelers jumped at the deal.

Through the help of an attorney, the Peelers finally forced their movers to release their belongings. They also http://www.moving.com/ sued and won a $17,000 judgment, but the company has since shut down and the Peelers haven't collected a dime.

Ron Berry of the Council of Better Business Bureaus says, "It's a big problem. It's a problem that's gotten worse in the last several years."

Get In-Person Estimates - Many people get estimates over the phone or online. It's a big mistake. Always have the company come to your house and see firsthand all the belongings you want moved. That way the estimate will be more accurate.

Their movers now were demanding almost $16,000 - $10,000 more than the original quote. And it got worse.

Beginners Guide to Moving With Cats

Stay Put for a Few days - This is not the time to take off for a holiday. Even though you will be busy unpacking, it will be nice for her to see her family and all the familiar things coming out of the boxes. Cats are curious creatures and before you know it, she will be checking out her new surroundings.

Open her carrier door and then close the bathroom door. This way she will have her own space while she gets used to the new surroundings. I found a bathroom to be a good room as it is small and my cat felt most comfortable in there.

My own cat, decided that under the stairs was a great place to be for a few days. We just let her come out when she was ready, and she is now happy in her new digs!

During one move, we thought the cat was OK simply watching us load the truck, until we noticed he was missing. He was older and we were worried.

I know that you may not like the idea of giving him to someone else while the move is going on, but the alternative is worse. If you simply can't find anyone to take care of him on moving day, then you will need to keep him crated. He will cry, but it is safer for him than running in fear.

I got my own cat used to the crate/carrier in this way, and then when we arrived at the new home, she stayed in it as she felt safer there! Make sure and put an absorbant towel in her carrier, as she will most likely urinate from fear or anger, and the towel will absorb it and not the back seat of your car!

As it turns out, the minute the moving truck got to the new house and the back door openend, out jumped out cat! He had seen his favourite chair going into the moving truck, so he followed it in the truck and no one saw. He then had a bumpy ride to the new house! He darted from the truck and under the neighbours porch.

Keep her Inside - Once the movers have left, make sure the doors and windows are closed and then let her out of the bathroom to explore. Decide where she will have her litter box, and then show it to her and her feeding spot.

http://www.infobarrel.com/Beginners_Guide_to_Moving_With_Cats

Pet Sitter - If you have to hire a pet sitter for the initial move then do it, because the heart ache of losing your cat or pet on one of the most stressful days can be heart breaking.

At the other end, in the new place, find a room, such as the spare bathroom and place her and her carrier in this room. Also bring her own litter box from home. It is best not to buy a new one just yet, using her old one will give her familiar smells. Giver her a water bowl and small bit of food setup in the bathroom as well. She may not eat much the first few days, but she will drink water.

We http://moving.doortodoor.com/ just left him there and after the truck left, he slowly came out to our calls, and then settled in.

Scout out Your New Digs - If you are moving to a house, scout out the neighbourhood and get to know a good veterinarian and the pet supply stores. Get a few extra new toys and treats for your cat at the new place.

They are part of the family too! If you can't find a pet sitter, check with your local veterinarian. They may keep him for a fee, or recommend someone, even if it is for a couple of da

ys until you get settled.

Cat House - If weather permits, you could simply set up a screened cat enclosure in the yard. This way you can keep your cat safe and out of the way of the movers.

The more time you have ahead of your move the better. This way you have time to plan. As you slowly pack, your cat will get used to the boxes around the house and will actually play around them. The following are some moving with cats tips that have worked for me and hopefully will help you too.

Instead of helping to organize the move with the movers, we spent most of the day searching for the cat, assuming he got out and ran from fear.

Purchase a good Cat Carrier - This is really really important! If your cat has never had to use a cat carrier, then you need to get him or her used to one fast. The best way to do this, is to purchase one and then place it in the main room where she hangs out now and place something of hers inside it, such as a blanket or toy.

Leave the door open, so that she can check it out and come and go. Most cats will be cautious at first, but then they get very curious and finally will check it out inside. Leave it out for the weeks up until your move. This doesn't guarantee she won't be upset, but at least she will be familiar with the crate.

Give her/him his own room - If on moving day you can get someone else to take care of your cat that would be best, but if not, you will need to keep her in the carrier before the movers arrive and during the move to keep her safe and to stop her from running out the door in fear.

It was a very difficult day. Moving is stressful enough. You need to plan ahead when moving your cat. Think where you will put his litter box, and where you will feed him at the same time as planning out your furniture.

Moving with cats can be a very stressful event, but there are ways to minimize the stress and get your cat settled as quickly as possible.

4 Things that May Hit you When Moving from the City

The city has a lot of options fora lot of things. If you want frozen yogurt, there's probably over a hundred choices. If you want Korean BBQ or Thai, all you have to do is Google it and choices will pop up within the surrounding cities. If you want to find a hair salon, there're more than likely five of them within a mile radius.

http://www.infobarrel.com/Moving_from_Los_Angeles

Perhaps one of the last things to hit you will be the ability to find the joy in the simple and small local things. It feels so much better to have your own favorite coffee shop, small restaurant, and dating locations where people know you and you're able to know them by name. You'll be able to have the joy of recognizing people's faces and having a more simple way of life.

Photo by Pixabay "What to Expect When Moving from the City"

Some of us grew up in the bipolar collage that is a city. It's ever changing with new faces and new looks and new opportunities. We are steeped in its fast pace culture and so used to its benefits and woes. Sometimes we don't even know what it's like to live outside of the city. We don't know what's it's like to experience a different way of life.

Now even if we believe we will always have a life in the city we grew up in, so many things can take us from it. Sometimes it will be a career, family, or even a relationship. At first it may seem a bit disconcerting; things can be different. But different isn't something you should be worried about when moving from the city. And when you embraced different, a few things will hit you at separate times.

1. Lost OpportunitiesPhoto by Grace Madeline Moser "Opportunities Lost in the City"

It's a funny thing when you move from a metropolitan area; there are so many things to take advantage of that when you move, you remember everyone of them the moment you're gone.

One of the first things that may hit you will be the things you never did.You may have given some thought in the past to trying out a music festival or a restaurant down the street, but it was never at the forefront of your mind.. until now.

Another missed advantage may be the different cultural niches all around your city. You probably explored Chinatown within an inch of its life, but what about Japan or Koreatown and it's bath houses, or the Indian enclaves that you never delved into? There are so many to explore in the city that unless you aren't interested in another's culture, you might become frustrated with yourself for not visiting more of them.

Lastly, it will be people that you never got to know. You probably saw so much of the city, but you may feel a loss at the fact that you hadn't even known those who lived in it. You might have gone to your favorite coffee shop or seen familiar parts of the city while driving by, but you would never know the local's names.

2. Facebook is the EnemyPhoto by Pixabay "Missed Opportunities in the City"

Now another thing that may hit you will be the irony. For instance, you'll see a friend's post on Facebook that they had gone to the beach. You'll feel a twinge of jealousy as you see the pictures of the bonfires and the ocean's tides. But then the irony will hit you all at once; when you still lived there, you would be sitting in your room on a Saturday afternoon scrolling through your Facebook feed. You would see the same kind of pictures of your friends at the pier, and that same feeling of jealousy would appear. You would wish you were there with them, feeling the sand and wood of the boardwalk beneath your bare feet.

You spent your time on social media, and put off having fun adventures another day, until it was too late to claim back the days you procrastinated.

3. The UnmissedPhoto by Grace Madeline Moser "The Unmissed Parts of the City"

The real moment you will realize that you aren't, "in Kansas anymore," so to speak, will be when entering the freeway. So many of us are used to boarding a freeway that is usually crowded that whenever we want to go across town, we will be pleasantly surprised that there is never any traffic. No one was being stupid and decided to get in a crash ten miles down the freeway. You could go on a date or hang out with friends on the other side of town and the only thing that will hold you back will be the stop lights. Rush hour almost doesn't exist and it never felt better.

A product of the city you also won't miss will be the noise. You can lay in your bed at night and not hear the sound of a helicopter going over your neighborhood or sirens blaring down a nearby street. You can rest in the quietness and not feel overwhelmed with all the noise that is constantly happening in a city.

At some point you will come to discover the lack of light pollution. You can drive a couple minutes until you are http://www.specialtymovingservices.com/ out of town and then be awed and amazed at the constellations and wonders above you. No skyline in a city could compare to the stars that dwell in the dark sky.

4. New Enjoyments and Adventures

Photo by Grace Madeline Moser "New Adventures Away from the City"

Sometimes it can take a bit of time getting used to the slower way of living. Some of us always imagined ourselves living in the same city, and thought that we'd meet our future spouses, get a good job, and someday raise a family there. Sure we'd travel here and there, but in our minds, we would always come back to our home base. Yet when we get a taste of something outside of the bustling fast life of the city, and we keep our minds open to new experiences, finding joy in the smaller things can feel so right.

Moving toward clinical faculty calibration.

What expectations are realistic? It is not realistic to expect everyone who teaches in a dental hygiene clinic to be the same--we all have strengths and weaknesses, and the combination creates a rich learning environment for all concerned. However, some areas of instruction are worth the effort to bring into closer agreement. One area is that of exploring for calculus following a student's scaling procedure. Exploring is the skill set that decides the clinical success or failure of the student. While faculty agreement is very hard to achieve and maintain, the goal for calculus detection is to agree 90 percent of the time. If this standard can be met, the number of faculty necessary to test the student can be decreased. Equally important is the student's perception of faculty agreement. If the student watches consistent exploring as faculty assess calculus removal, the student will be less likely to ask one faculty over another to grade their daily procedures, their feedback will be more consistent and testing results will be more reliable. The final point is that when students are happy, everyone in the clinic is happy, and students are the reason faculty strive to create an excellent learning environment.

* Understands and uses the teaching and testing criteria that are established by the program. For a new person, this task is enormous. Programs frequently pair new and seasoned faculty to assist with this transition, but that may not be enough. A more formal mentoring relationship between seasoned and new will increase the effectiveness of integration into the program.

In the beginning of their education, students experience severalweeks of preclinical instrumentation, learning each instrument prior topatient care. Naturally, the speed with which they perform new skills isslow and deliberate, and seasoned faculty who teach preclinic work veryhard to demonstrate the deliberate strokes. Fast-forward a semester, when new faculty are added to the clinical experience along with realpatients. Seasoned faculty continue to perform the instrumentationskills the same way students learned, reinforcing the slow anddeliberate strokes. Entering the scene are the new faculty, bringing theskills they are accustomed to performing in their private practicesetting. The student has much to gain by observing any faculty, but theyare especially enchanted with the speed with which new facultyaccomplish the patient check. Students quickly come to regard the fasterexploring technique as the correct one, because that is what is done inprivate practice, so it must be right. And face it--slow is boring. EricHarvey and AI Lucia said it best: "People hear what we say, butthey see what we do. And seeing is believing." So the differencebetween 'seasoned and slow' vs. 'new and fast'begins.

But wait! Has anyone explained to 'new and fast' the educational theory behind slow and deliberate? Probably not--and therein lies a huge challenge in becoming calibrated or consistent with 'seasoned and slow.' Finding the time to get all faculty in one place is the first obstacle. Often, new faculty are contracted for clinic days only, or function as adjunct faculty in remote sites to supervise students, and are not available for faculty development opportunities. The need to hire private practice hygienists is only going to increase as the new American Dental Association accreditation standards require additional faculty for clinical supervision of entry-level students. Programs continually seek solutions to the challenge of providing faculty training and development.

To create a fair teaching and testing environment, faculty need toestablish a routine that is consistent with what the students learn inthe preclinical class. This means that each faculty:

* Explores with the same instrument, from the same chair position, in an exact sequence, using a specific stroke direction, and with the least amount of pressure possible. These criteria are described in instrumentation text books.

* Demonstrates this technique while the student is watching. Dental hygiene students are frequently visual learners, they are going to internalize what they see, and as hard as it is for 'new and speedy' to perform deliberate exploring strokes, this will increase faculty agreement in the eyes of the student.

Faculty training is first on the list. Clinical teaching is one area for which schools often recruit hygienists from the private sector. While these new faculty may not have teaching experience, their relationship with private practice is highly valued. Students admire the skills and efficiency with which this faculty can proceed through patient checkpoints, often making the seasoned faculty appear slow and deliberate. The confusion for students comes when 'new and fast' faculty grade differently than 'seasoned and slow' faculty, which happens often.

Now is a challenging time in dental hygiene education. Theprofession is changing, and the education community is pressed always tostay enough steps ahead to be able to prepare graduates who will becompetent to assume increasingly varied roles. The lead story in thisissue of Access addresses the importance of advanced education to keepthe doors of opportunity open. Among the many important issues it coversis the potential for a shortage of dental hygiene faculty, and thepossibility that there will not be enough dental hygienists qualified tofill positions left open by the retirement of current educators and theopening of new programs. I would like to take a moment to consider atopic crucial to the preparation of qualified educators: calibration ofclinical faculty.

Why is calibration of clinical faculty so difficult to achieve? Let me count the ways! Programs must comply with multiple layers of outside influence from accrediting and testing agencies to the many institutional policies. Rather than focus on these uncontrollable issues, we should concentrate efforts on the following: faculty training, following testing protocols, and realistic expectations.

The reason behind slow and deliberate is to allow the students time to learn what the tactile vibrations mean. One of the hardest lessons for the student to learn is the difference between a submarginal CEJ and residual calculus. If the explorer is not used in a slow, methodical manner, students struggle even more with this concept. For faculty, a key issue in calibration http://www.movingcompany.com/ is consistent exploring techniques to determine if the student has been successful in removing all detectable calculus. If faculty are using their 'own' method of exploring, differences will be magnified, and the students are most affected.
